Sholom Rivkin

Rabbi Sholom Rivkin was a prominent figure in American Judaism, born in Israel and later becoming a respected leader in the United States. He served as the Chief Rabbi of St. Louis, Missouri, from 1983 to 2005, a position that held significant importance as one of the few cities in the US to have a chief rabbi. Following his tenure, he held the title of Chief Rabbi Emeritus until his passing in 2011.

Throughout his career, Rabbi Rivkin demonstrated expertise in Jewish law, with a particular focus on family and divorce law. His knowledge and guidance were sought after by rabbis and rabbinical courts globally. In addition to his role as Chief Rabbi, he also held key positions as a chief judge on the Beth Din of the Rabbinical Council of America and as the head of the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis, overseeing the governing body of the St. Louis Orthodox Jewish community.
